Questions Before You Apply?

Find answers about the Brondlab externship, application process, and filmmaking experience.

You can apply through the Brondlab application process. Candidates are reviewed and selected for each season. Only selected candidates move forward into the group-based feature film production process.

No. The feature film story is not developed through individual enquiries before selection. Once candidates are selected, the group comes together to discuss and develop the story for the Brondlab feature film.

Brondlab's feature film story is developed by the selected participants during the program. An individual movie idea submitted before selection does not become the basis for the Brondlab feature film.

Yes. You can contact the Brondlab team with questions about the 30-day externship, application process, filmmaking experience, schedule, and program requirements. Story development and movie-making discussions begin after candidates are selected.

The overall film production budget depends on the requirements of the particular movie, including the screenplay, locations, cast, crew, equipment, shooting schedule, production design, editing, sound, colour grading, and other post-production requirements. Budget details therefore depend on the specific production.

The shooting schedule is planned as part of the 30-day feature film production. The exact number of shoot days depends on the screenplay, locations, cast, scenes, and production requirements developed during the program.

Selected candidates become part of the Brondlab production group. The group then works together on the movie story, followed by casting and auditions, location planning, shooting, editing, trailer production, and post-production.

A production pitch communicates the core idea, story, creative direction, production approach, and overall vision of a movie. In a feature film production, it can help organise the creative and practical direction of the project.
